Children’s Bible Teacher is a product of a local independent church. As a former Christian education administrator, Sunday school director, a teacher for well over 40 years, and a producer of children’s Bible lessons and Bible studies, I am concerned about our methods of teaching the Bible to our children in churches today.
It’s my firm belief, and a Biblical truth, that the Holy Spirit works through scripture reading. If scripture reading is absent or lacking, how then can we expect our children to hear from God and grow in their faith. Children knowing God and growing in their faith is our main goal.
Here is a basic Statement of Faith:
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. Therefore, our ministry emphasizes the exposition of God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation, line upon line, precept upon precept.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of Christ, in His Virgin Birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life; we further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
- We believe it is important to uphold the scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to the practice of water baptism and the regular taking of Communion. We do not believe that either of these practices is essential for salvation, but that they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.
The Bible lessons on this site are designed to meet the following goals:
- Help children of all ages (even kindergarten) learn to read scripture one verse at a time.
- Help children to understand reading Bible verses is the most important part of the lesson.
- Help children learn to navigate the Bible (learn the books in the Bible and turn to the book, chapter, and verse).
- Help parents and leaders identify certain terms, meanings, Bible truths and such contained within the verses.
- Help parents, leaders, and children to understand the role of the Holy Spirit during Bible study.
These are a few of the highlights you can learn by doing proper effective life-changing Bible study with children of any age.
The Great Commission (the words Jesus spoke to His disciples before He ascended upon high) in Matthew 28:18-20, play an important role as we strive to obey His command: “18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.”
It’s our goal to provide these lessons and curriculum to help spread the gospel. Any money or funds that we receive, would solely contribute to support our online effort to provide parents and teachers materials to effectively teach and lead their children and students in meaningful life-changing Bible study and help grow their faith in God.
